From scratch: Laundry powder...

Grated soap, a little washing soda and voila! A perfectly suitable (and ridiculously easy) homemade laundry powder.*
It's cheap, it's gentle, and it's environmentally friendly.
What more could you ask for?

* Based on the instructions found in Rhonda Hetzel's Down to Earth.

  2. I grate the soap whilst watching TV every Friday night. It's become a laundry-scented routine. :)

  3. The grating is not-at-all fun, but the powder works wonderfully!

What do you do with your soap ends? I'm getting quite the collection.

  4. Soap ends? I don't actually have soap ends! I grate the whole thing! Gets a bit tricky near the end, though - have to watch closely that I don't grate my fingers!

  5. I really like this simple idea - thanks for sharing! We have to use non-bio powder here as I tend to get skin irritations from biological powders. I'd much rather try this homemade version though!

  6. Hi
What is this soap all about.
Can you explain a little more.
I would like to use if there are some good responses.
    Thanks
